The Eye-Fi Card detects any Wi-Fi networks in the area and records the MAC addresses of each, while not actually connecting to them. The MAC addresses are stored in the Eye-Fi Card with the picture until the photo is ready to be uploaded. Once the Eye-Fi Card comes into contact with a configured wireless network and the photos begin transferring the WPS data are sent to Google’s WPS service. At that time, the Google WPS service translates and triangulates the WPS data, creating a latitude and longitude. Google then sends this information back to Eye-Fi where the Eye-Fi Server writes the latitude and longitude to the photographs EXIF. At this point, the photo is delivered in its entirety to your computer and/or online photo sharing web site.

das mit der geschwindigkeit für ein RAW (oder MB/s) würde mich auch interessiern. kannst Du da was sagen, Martin?

Danke. Na ja, für so ne kleine Karte ja nicht schlecht, aber eben auch nicht mit Profisystemen zu vergleichen.

Wenn dein Nachbar sein Smartphone auspackt, allen Schnickschnack anschaltet, dann hat sein Handy per GPS die eigene Position, das WLAN des Handy sieht dein WLAN in der Reichweite.Irgendwo lass ich das die Info aus dem Wlan kommt, aber wer hat denn die ganzen Wlan georeferenziert?
